And yet there is more!

The next project was one that I greatly had been looking forward to!

My father-in-law had given me a few slabs of camphor laurel that he had in his shed a few years prior to his passing.

I always said that when I had the time and a few more tools that I would make one of these. See I grew up learning how to sew on one of these old Singer Treadle machines. In fact my mother still uses the one she taught me on which was her mother's!

I just loved these stands and machines so when I saw one of the bases being sold (several years ago as well) I bought it with this in mind.

So I had the stand but what to do about the top?

Eureka! Of course, the old slabs dad gave me. So I dug out one of the slabs and cut it down to a reasonable size.

A lot of sanding to get the cup/bow out of it and then to give it a smooth finish. Then of course vanished a few times. I attached it with (Cringe moment here - small roofing screws) it was the only secure way at the time.

I did replace them with lag bolt screws later so you can breathe a sigh of relief there.

I have a very small TV that sits on it with some pictures now in my office.
