Towel Rack

This was a great little project and very, very useful as I was limited in space between the shower and the bath tub but desperately needed something to put all the towels, washcloths etc.

Its made out of pine with 4 interior shelves. I've put trim all around the top to give it a nice look and used wood feet to lift it off the tiles to ensure no water gets under it should that ever be an issue.

I sanded this all back up to 120grit and was happy with it natural but due to the humidity in the shower/bath area it started to develop a mold spot. So I took it out and bathed it in 30seconds outdoor cleaner which is the easiest way to clean moss, mould, mildew and algae from hard exterior surfaces.

After letting it dry in the garage for 2 days (it was like an oven let me tell you!) I then gave it 2 coats of varnish.

Its been in the shower now for over 7 years and not a single issue (other than a bit of dust every so often 😒).
